Amber K

My name is Amber K, and I am a Wiccan priestess.

I live in the mountains of northern New Mexico with my partner, Azrael Arynn K, my son Starfire, and Kitsune (Japanese for "fox spirit"), our Basenji-Australian Cattle Dog mix. I presently work as a trainer for a Tewa Indian pueblo. Our coven is based in Los Alamos, home of the National Laboratory and the place where the atomic bomb was developed. We are completely open as Witches in the community, and do a fair amount of public service and interfaith connection.

I first became involved in the Craft in 1979 when I joined The Temple of the Pagan Way in Chicago, where I was initiated and later ordained.

After that I moved to Wisconsin where I worked with Circle for two years and became editor of Circle Network News, and was active in New Earth Circle and a women's spirituality group called The Pool of Bast. With Catelaine I founded the Coven of Our Lady of the Woods. I also worked with the Dianic network Re-formed Congregation of the Goddess, writing for their newspaper Of A Like Mind, and teaching in their Cella priestess training program.

In 1990 I moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico, and founded a new incarnation of Our Lady of the Woods. Along the way I spent three terms as National First Officer of the Covenant of the Goddess, and also edited The COG Newsletter for a time, started the annual Leadership Institute, and created the Hart & Crescent Award program for Pagan youth.

I am now working with volunteers from several traditions to create Ardantane, an educational center and residential seminary for the Craft. It will be located in New Mexico but serve the national and international Craft communities.
